Position Overview
We are looking for a highly technical, detail-obsessed Ad Tech & Automations Specialist to join our digital operations team. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in marketing automation, data integration, and advanced tracking setups across multiple platforms. You will architect scalable automation flows, configure sophisticated ad tech infrastructure, and enable the team to make smarter, faster, data-backed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Automation & CRM Flows
- Design, implement, and optimize cross-channel automation workflows (e.g., abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back) using platforms like Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, Customer.io, or similar.
- Design, implement, and optimize workflow automations using platforms like Zapier and Make.com.
- Build and test dynamic content personalization frameworks and segmentation logic for email, SMS, and web experiences.
- Work with creative and media teams to trigger campaigns based on behavioral, transactional, and predictive data.
Ad Tech & Tag Management
- Own the setup and maintenance of pixels, tags, and conversion tracking across paid media platforms (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, etc.) using Google Tag Manager and other tools.
- Ensure clean, reliable data flow between front-end sites, ad platforms, CRMs, and analytics dashboards.
- Collaborate with developers to deploy custom tracking scripts and event-based triggers.
Data Architecture & Analytics Support
- Implement and monitor first-party data tracking strategies in preparation for a cookieless future.
- Assist in developing and managing data pipelines between marketing systems, data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery), and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, GA4).
- Support attribution modeling and lead scoring initiatives through close integration with CRM and ad platforms.
Cross-Team Enablement
- Partner with Media Buyers, Creative Strategists, and Account Managers to understand campaign goals and provide automation/tracking recommendations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of tracking and automation systems.
Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve targeting accuracy, and reduce manual campaign setup time.
Qualifications
Must-Haves
- 5+ years of experience in a technical marketing, marketing ops, or ad tech role.
- Expertise in Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, Hubspot, Salesforce or similar marketing automation tools.
- Proficiency with Google Tag Manager, GA4, and major ad platform tracking setups.
- Strong understanding of event-based tracking, custom pixel setups, and data layer design.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and REST APIs for technical integrations.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and QA complex data flows.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with server-side tracking, CDPs, or data warehouse integrations.
- Knowledge of eCommerce platforms like Shopify, BigCommerce, or Magento.
- Exposure to SQL or scripting languages used in ETL workflows.
- Certifications in platforms such as Klaviyo, Google Analytics, or Meta Blueprint.
