Bringing Appalachia to Life with a Cinematic Brand Film

As part of the launch of the Appalachian Triangle of Kentucky—a new regional tourism initiative to entice visitors to Appalachia—our team was asked to produce a flagship commercial to capture the unique beauty, culture, and adventure of the region. The video needed to serve multiple roles: as a TV and streaming ad, as a hero element for the website, and as a standout piece of content for social media. At its heart, the goal was simple but powerful: invite people to see Appalachian Kentucky with new eyes.

A Visual Poem for the Adventurous

We developed the concept, scripting, and handled all production in-house, beginning with audience archetypes that helped guide which attractions to feature. Our creative team wrote an original poem that became the voiceover script, pairing it with an atmospheric soundtrack by Kentucky-based band Sundy Best. Shot on location during peak fall color, the video showcases the region’s landscape with sweeping drone footage, cinematic pacing, and a focus on immersive storytelling.

The final deliverables included a 90-second hero film for broadcast and streaming, 30-second and 15-second cutdowns for social and digital platforms, and a short-form version for the website. Throughout, we collaborated closely with the client to refine the script and visuals, ensuring we captured not just the geography but the spirit of the region.

The launch film helped anchor the larger brand rollout and advertising campaign, generating awareness and planting a strong emotional connection with viewers.
