From Local Gear Shop to a Launchpad for Adventure

J&H Outdoors has long been a trusted name for outdoor gear in Kentucky, but they knew they could become something more. RedTag partnered with J&H to reimagine their brand from the ground up. We transformed the retailer into a modern, inclusive, and adventure-ready identity that welcomes everyone from seasoned hikers to first-time campers.

From Logo to Language: A Ground-Up Brand Build

The new brand began with a new logo that subtly incorporates the silhouette of Kentucky. It’s a mark that proudly roots the brand in place while inspiring exploration. Alongside the visual design elements, we took what already made J&H great and developed brand pillars centered around integrity, inclusivity, and advocacy, as well as a brand voice that’s friendly, helpful, and always up for an adventure.

A Storefront With a Spirit of Discovery

Their new Shopify-powered website extends the in-store experience in a way that reflects J&H’s warm, knowledgeable, and welcoming personality. Product pages, newsletters, and blog content all carry the brand’s new voice, making every click into a new journey. By putting community and accessibility at the heart of the brand, our work positions J&H Outdoors as more than a store. It’s an open invitation to explore and belong in the outdoors.
