Rebranding Louisville Catholic Schools for the Next Generation

The Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Schools oversee 48 schools across central Kentucky, serving over 18,000 students from preschool through high school. With a long-standing reputation for academic excellence, faith-based education, and deep community roots, they wanted to ensure their brand remained compelling in a changing educational landscape. Our challenge was to refresh their brand identity, redesign their website, and launch a digital ad campaign to drive elementary school enrollment.

An Invitation to Belong

Our process began with focus groups involving school staff, parents, and parishioners to understand what differentiated archdiocese schools from schools in the region. One key idea emerged from our research: school as a community. These schools are more than places of learning. They are tight-knit communities where families, educators, and students grow together. This insight shaped our creative direction, leading us to build a brand that emphasized belonging and faith in a way that welcomed both Catholic and non-Catholic families.

A Comprehensive, Collaborative Rebrand

The work included a new, cohesive brand system, a full redesign of the Louisville Catholic Schools website, and digital ad campaigns for enrollment. The client team was highly engaged and eager to learn throughout the process, which made the journey more efficient and collaborative. They were so pleased with the final outcome that they invited our team to present the new brand directly to all school leaders across the archdiocese, ensuring consistent application of the assets system-wide.

Stronger Connections and Sustained Growth

After the Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Schools launched their new brand and website, they’ve seen marked improvements in growth. Preschool enrollment rose by 5%, K–8 enrollment by 2%, and high school enrollment by 3%, with continued growth expected into the next academic year. Our contributions to this growth are a testament to our strategic, collaborative approach. Through everything we learned in our focus groups, we were able to craft a brand authentic to the community that makes the archdiocese strong, and one that invites even more families to come and belong.
