What emotional and psychological motivations underlie food purchase decisions? We began by diving into the company’s history, learning the processes in an immersive tour, and tasting the food. Then we explored far and wide into industry trends and academic research to identify our core audiences along with their wants and needs.

Drawing on Deep Reserves of Story

Equipped with strategic insights, we began building a visual language and written voice crafted to resonate with our target audience and to reflect Bourbon Barrel Foods’ story and values. As we refined our creative approach, we drew inspiration from a variety of sources: agricultural illustrations, the rich colors of bourbon, the typography of vintage food packaging, Japanese design philosophy, and the spirit of Kentucky.
