An eCommerce Site as Refined as the Eyewear

Valdo is a luxury eyewear brand rooted in Italian craftsmanship, with every frame handcrafted from richly textured acetate. With a discerning audience that values quality over trends, Valdo came to RedTag for an ecommerce website to launch the new brand. They wanted the site to do more than sell products. It needed to tell a story and feel like the product: beautiful, understated, and exquisite in the details.

Craftsmanship at Every Stage

Our work began with discovery meetings where we reviewed eyewear prototypes, dug into Valdo’s design philosophy, and immersed ourselves in the art of Italian eyewear-making. The audience for this brand isn’t buying on impulse—they’re looking for quality, story, and style. We conducted competitor audits and explored the heritage of Italian eyewear, looking for ways to bring that process and artistry into the foreground.

Beyond Shopping to Story

While the site needed to function as a clean, intuitive ecommerce experience, it also needed to tell Valdo’s story. Using the tactile qualities of the eyewear itself as inspiration—color, material, and finish—we created a visual language that emphasized texture, detail, and elegance. The site design gave space for immersive photography and video, showcasing the eyewear like sculpture. We wanted to go beyond looks to capture how the eyewear feels.

With that in mind, we designed an immersive Shopify experience that balances storytelling and conversion. The site features striking product photography that highlights textures, colors, and form, supported by content we developed in collaboration with the client. From a clean, flexible CMS to detailed product descriptions and subtle luxury cues, every element is intentional. We also provided training so the client could easily manage inventory and update the site as they grow.

A Platform for Launch and Legacy

The final website positioned Valdo not just as a new brand, but as one with legacy and presence. It launched as a premium digital flagship that reflects the same values as the eyewear itself: timeless design, careful craftsmanship, and clarity of vision. As Valdo grows, the site will provide a strong, scalable foundation built to support both future products and the story of the brand.
