Uniting a Community Around the Future of UK Athletics

When the University of Kentucky Athletics Department set out to raise $350 million, they wanted to create a movement that went farther than an ordinary fundraising campaign. RedTag partnered with UK Athletics, the K-Fund, and Wrigley Media Group to bring that movement to life. The result was “Kentucky Can,” a bold campaign that connected tradition with ambition, and turned school pride into meaningful investment.

A Campaign with Heart and Vision

We built the campaign around four key pillars: Embrace Tradition, Enhance Experience, Lead Competition, and Provide Scholarships. These values became the foundation for messaging, creative, and outreach strategies. Working alongside Wrigley Media Group, we brought the campaign to life through storytelling, spotlighting the real experiences of student-athletes, alumni, and supporters. These stories created the emotional spark needed to inspire action across generations of Wildcats fans.

Designing a Look That Honors Tradition

We collaborated closely with UK’s brand team to craft a visual identity that felt unmistakably Kentucky—modern and inspiring, yet rooted in tradition. From digital ads, printed mailers, and videos shared across alumni networks, every element combined to reinforce the campaign’s unified vision and drive momentum across channels.

Going Beyond the Goal to Lasting Legacy

Surpassing the $350 million goal was a milestone. But the real win was what it unlocked: scholarships for future athletes, state-of-the-art facilities, and a strengthened foundation for UK Athletics for decades to come. “Kentucky Can” proved that when purpose meets passion, the entire community rallies. We were honored to help turn that shared belief into lasting impact.
