Bringing Local Legend to Life for a One-of-a-Kind Triathlon

When Anderson County, KY set out to launch the Wildman Triathlon, they wanted an event that went beyond being just another endurance race. The vision was to hold a race as bold and unforgettable as the local lore behind its name. RedTag partnered with the event organizers and local tourism leaders to create a brand that captured the grit of competition and the mystery of Anderson County’s own Bigfoot-style legend: the Wildman.

Folklore Meets Fierce Competition

We began by digging into the stories that make the region unique, from whispered Bigfoot sightings to the rolling hills of the Bourbon Trail. These elements formed the core of the brand. The custom logo—featuring a Wildman silhouette cleverly integrated as the “A” in WILDMAN—conveyed both power and personality.

Design That Tells a Bigger Story

From the color palette to the tone of voice, every element of the brand identity was crafted to reflect both the spirit of the race and the region’s character. The visuals leaned into wild terrain and primal energy, while our messaging balanced challenge with charm. The result was a cohesive brand experience that made the event both feel larger than life and deeply local.

An Award-Winning Identity

The Wildman Triathlon logo earned a Gold Addy Award for its originality and execution, but the real reward was the energy it brought to the event itself. What started as a local race has grew into a cultural celebration, drawing athletes and adventurers from across the region.
